Natural event

White bluish flashes that precede large earthquakes and last for a couple of seconds. In 1960 people toon pictures if this phenomenon during the Matsushiro earthquake scientists suggest that lights are caused by pre-earthquake elements and awaken natural electrical charge of rocks then causing sparkle and glow

Paleontologist

A Paleontologist means "The scientific study of prenistoric life. It includes the study of fossils to determine organisms evolution and interaction with each other and their environment." But they have more other jobs then just studying fossils, such as a Micropalentology, paleobotany , vertebrate paleontology and ichnology paleoecology. Paleontologist is a fun and hard working job.

Letter of Mendel

Dear Mendel,

The structure of DNA explains your genetic discoveries of factors, now called genes.DNA actually contains genes that allow characteristics to appear and either be dominant or not. However the structure of the DNA being a double helix allows for the base pairing theory to be applied such as A to G and C to T resulting in the identical strips of DNA used to create offspring's through the parent's DNA. So your discoveries on factors and P1 and F1 are largely determined by the structure of DNA since DNA contains the genetic information  in the structure of a double helix .When parents produce an offspring, the offspring genetic information is a combination of both parents'.

                                                                                        Sincerely,
                                                                                                     Janell Becerra

A Genetic Counselor helps you make decisions based upon genetic information. They see if you have a genetics counselors also help people determine if they want to know their own risk of developing a genetic disease such as heart disease and breast cancer. According to Payscale.com, the median annual salary for a genetics counselor with eight years of experience in the field is $67,200. Professionals with eight years in the field who are in the 25th to the 75th pay percentile earn between $65,500 and $77,900.

Question Do you think a community like Gattaca is good or bad? Why?

Question Do you think a community like Gattaca is good or bad? Why?
In the movie "Gattaca" its about how people are vaild by there genotype. In there community its all about being perfect or close to it. Why does it have to be bast on your genotype, we should have a fair chances out there in the world to not be judge by color or your genotype. You can't control that, its natural. I think Gattaca community is not fair and very bad.

Question Should we be able to know our genomes?

Question Should we be able to know our genomes? Well, genomes are "he haploid set of chromosomes in a gamete or microorganism, or in each cell of a multicellular organism.
  • the complete set of genes or genetic material present in a cell or organism."  according to Google's definition.

I think that people should know there genomes because you should know what is in your body or not. Its like asking if I should know my blood type. You should know this things about yourself. People might say well it doesn't matter, who cares. Well its up to you if you want to find that out, but doctors should tell you if you ask.

Write an explanation of dominant and recessive alelles appropriate for a jr high class

Dominant and Recessive Alleles. In a heterozygous individual, the effect of one allele for a gene may "covered up" the effect of the other allele, The "covered up" allele does not show up in the individual's phenotype. An allele that "covers up" another allele this way is the dominant allele of that allele pair. The allele that is "hidden" is the recessive allele. The phrase "dominant and recessive genes" is often used to mean "dominant and recessive alleles". - from website genics def.

If animals were capable of regeneration like a planarian, how do you think it would affect the ecosystem?

If animals can regenorate, then it would make a big different to the eco sysytem. The animals can survive alot long. If a zebra gets his/her leg off then it can grow back slowly then die. It will help save the animals from extinction. But at the same time it would less their resource and live in some kind of hard work trying to get food, water, ect.
